Privacy policy
Data protection information for the pgconfigurator tool website.
Last updated: 28 August 2026.
This is the privacy notice for the pgconfigurator website and any of its public mirrors hosted by CYBERTEC PostgreSQL International GmbH. It is short on purpose, because the tool collects very little: the core features run entirely in your browser (see section 4).
1. General data protection policy
This website is hosted and maintained by CYBERTEC PostgreSQL International GmbH. We are especially committed to the protection of your personal data. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory regulations (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act 2003).
For detailed information regarding how we handle your data across all our services — including contact inquiries, newsletter subscriptions, CRM tools, analytics, and your rights as a data subject — please refer to our central CYBERTEC Privacy Policy.

2. Data collection on this specific (sub-)domain
While the overarching data-processing principles are governed by the central privacy policy linked above, this specific product website uses its own local configuration for cookie consent management and technical delivery.
- Contact & resource forms: any data you submit through a form on this website (such as your name, e-mail address, organisation and message) is transmitted securely to CYBERTEC systems and processed in accordance with the central privacy policy.
- Server logs: for technical reasons and to ensure network security, our infrastructure logs standard access data when you access this domain — such as IP address, timestamp, requested path and browser user agent. These logs are kept only for a short period and then deleted or anonymised.
3. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
Because this product website operates on a separate (sub-)domain, we use a dedicated Cookie Consent Management Platform (CMP) to give you clear choices about the cookies and local storage used specifically on this site. On your first visit you are asked to accept or reject optional cookies, and you can adjust your preferences at any time to control which non-essential scripts (such as analytics or marketing tags) are loaded.
This website uses cookies and similar functions to process end-device information and personal data. Depending on the function, data may be passed on to third parties, including in countries without an adequate level of data protection (for example the USA). Your consent is always voluntary, is not required to use the website, and can be rejected or revoked at any time. The full, current list — grouped by category, with purpose and storage duration — is shown below.
4. What runs in your browser
When you load /tune or /explain, your browser downloads a small runtime shim (/wasm_exec.js) and the configurator + plan-analyzer engine (/pgconfig.wasm). The tool serves both from the same domain and does not fetch them from a third-party CDN.
Once loaded, all computation — configuration generation, plan parsing, anti-pattern detection, output formatting — runs locally on your device, so the configurations, execution plans and schemas you paste generally remain in your browser and are not sent to us. The exceptions are if you submit a contact form, or — if your browser cannot run WebAssembly — the fallback to our server-side API, where the text you submit is processed to produce the result and is not retained beyond the short-lived server log described in section 2.
5. Your rights
You have the right to request information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of processing. You also have the right to request correction, restriction, data portability or deletion of this data, and to object to its processing. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority (in Austria: the Datenschutzbehörde).
Requests and any questions about the processing of your personal data can be sent to us at:
